Mental + Physical Health
Mental Health has always been a focus in my life but became an even larger one during the pandemic. As someone that has struggled with anxiety, depression, and dissociation my entire life, being quarantined away from the things I loved hit me extremely hard. I found difficulty eating, sleeping, and even getting out of bed in the first place, so I turned to the one thing that I knew would boost my mental health... Fitness!
I began running throughout my community, on some days running over seven miles before 8 AM. I began doing yoga, something that is now the start and end to everyday. These actions now help me as I lead my water polo team, build muscle in the gym, and find inner peace through mindful practices.
Remember that life is all about balance.
