About me
My name is Delilah Sichmeller and I have a passion for helping our environment and spreading the word about the small changes we can all make to create massive impacts.
My Work
I have spent the past six years advocating for a better tomorrow by encouraging others to recycle and reuse. I have presented to more than 3,000 students, educating about the importance of this issue. I’ve had the chance to share my interactive presentation with students, starting with the question “What is your favorite thing about our planet”, and ending with the question “How are you going to lower your carbon footprint”. Through thorough discussion and my educational slides, we conclude that the best way to lower your carbon footprint is by recycling, reducing, and reusing. I have raised over $5,000 for conservation organizations by recycling 150,000 bottles/cans. I continue to educate the youth by using my social media sites as well as my website. With the utilization of specific hashtags like: #randrforabettertomorrow, #noplanetB, #recyclereuse, along with reels and infographics, I’m able to reach over 1,000 views on a post in a single day.
In September of 2022, I published my children’s book, Recycling for a Better Today, to teach young people about the importance of protecting our planet and at this point have donated it to more than 70 schools and libraries. In 2024, I created “Delilah's Princess Closet”, a community lending closet available to those that cannot afford to buy formal wear first-hand. This project helps to reiterate the importance of reusing clothing and shopping second-hand. As of 2025, I awarded the first “Recycling for a Better Today Scholarship” of over $500 through raising funds by collecting recycling from around my community. This scholarship is available nationally to High School and College students with a passion for environmental advocacy.
